David R. Hill

Fifteen years as CIO. Twenty-five building the systems, teams, and trust that enterprises run on.

I lead enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and digital transformation for organizations that need someone who's done it before — and I build the governance, data, and teams that make the next fifteen years easier than the last.

$1.5B

I spent 15 years as CIO of a $1.5B financial institution, reporting directly to the CEO as part of a five-person executive leadership team. My mandate went well beyond IT — information security, digital banking, electronic payments, facilities, and a full P&L for the credit card, debit card, and ATM portfolios.

What I'm known for isn't any one system — it's what I do when something's broken: a data function nobody trusted, a project portfolio nobody was coordinating, a card program bleeding value. I find the structural problem, and I build the team and governance to fix it for good.

Problems I was brought in to fix

Data & Governance

A single source of truth

Executives were pulling their own numbers, and the numbers didn't match — slowing decisions and eroding trust across leadership. I founded the Business Intelligence Unit to centralize reporting into one secure, trusted source.

Result → Restored confidence in the numbers, faster executive decisions

Project Governance

Coordinating the chaos

VP-level leaders were each running their own projects with no shared visibility into resourcing or timing. I built a formal PMO to bring org-wide governance to project intake and delivery.

Result → Coordinated execution across simultaneous initiatives

P&L Turnaround

From decline to top performer

The credit card portfolio had seen negative growth for years and hadn't been actively managed. I overhauled the system, cut costs, and renegotiated the vendor contract.

Result → 2nd most profitable loan portfolio, 12+% annual growth

Branch Transformation

Retiring the pneumatic tube

I researched, negotiated, and implemented an Interactive Teller Machine program, replacing legacy drive-thru systems and centralizing operations through the main contact center.

Result → Stronger security, leaner staffing, longer service hours
